Color Calendar

Raise your hand and nearest color coded binder if you like to be organized! I know I do. Now, if you are asking if I AM always organized, well, that’s another topic, but I feel at my operational peak when everything is in it’s place. In trying to be more organized for blog planning (Elsie and Emma of A Beautiful Mess have some wonderful tips on that topic), I ran across a great DIY paint sample calendar and knew immediately that I had to make one for myself.

Although I have a literal 5 inch stack of paint samples left over from our house renovation, I decided to get colored paper instead so I could make the squares as big as I like (my day squares were 2 inches tall x 2 1/2 inches wide so they fit nicely on the 16 x 20 card stock backing). You can make your squares any size to fit your frame, but I suggest sketching out your calendar first on a piece of paper that is your desired size so you can get a general feel of how big you want each section.

Once my pieces were cut, I attached the bottom row first with a small piece of double sided tape behind each one. Then I carefully built up each row until the columns were completed.

After all your rows are in place, pop it back into the frame and fill in the month, days of the week, and day numbers, and you’re all set!

WHAAAAT?!? Organization that looks freakin’ sweet? Sign me up.  Let me know how it goes if you decide to make one too!
