4 Years!!

This month Todd and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary (you can see more pics of the wedding here, here, and here). I’ve always heard that you are considered newlyweds for your first 4 years, but I’m not sure if that means you qualify until your 5th anniversary or not. Most likely we are probably just a “regular married couple” now, but I think I’m ok with that. After all, it has already been just shy of 12 years that I’ve been ridiculously infatuated with this guy, so it’s not like we are the new kids on the love block anyways.

We had a busy week during our actual anniversary with one of my best gal’s wedding, so we postponed our celebration until this past weekend when we had more time. It was actually really sweet of the bride (we call her Mo) to play the song Todd and I had our first dance to at their reception as a “hey-girl-we-kinda-share-the-same-anniversary” shoutout. What a sweetie butt. My fellow bridesmaid Bethany (another sweetie B. friend) snapped a few shots of Todd and I after the ceremony and I think they are keepers.

I love that we usually always go to the same spot for dinner each anniversary. It’s actually the same place that catered our wedding so it’s fun to order some of the same dishes we served that night (like lobster mac and cheese and baby burgers) and reminisce a bit.

Have you gotten the new Party Party app yet? It’s so fun you guys, we did one of these at every stoplight on the way to dinner…
I asked Todd what he would surprise him the most about his life 4 years after our wedding,Β and he said the fact that we bought a Corvette Stingray. Interesting. I would have thought it would have been that I’m somehow even more beautiful than the day he married me, but whatever. I did love that Todd let me talk on and on for half the dinner about how much I love Robert Redford and then his present to me when we got home was a copy of “The Sting” (starring the aforementioned R.R.). He gets me. And that’s why every year with him gets better and better…

So sweet!!! Happy Anniversary!! My husband and I just celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary and I talked about my love for Bruce Willis at dinner too… only to get home and find he’d bought all of the Die Hard movies so that we could have a BW marathon that weekend. We sure do have good men! πŸ™‚
