My New Year’s Eve Party!

Happy 2016 everyone! We had such a lovely Christmas in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA visiting with my family but we eventually had to hurry home to host a NYE eve weekend with some of our out-of-town college friends. It seems kind of tough to find a fancy New Year’s restaurant plan that wasn’t $150 a plate here in Nashville, so we did a dinner and game night here at our house instead. I wanted to do something special for the dining room decorations but only had a day to pull it all together so I made these gold mylar pom-poms and hung them from the ceiling over the table. I actually made that sequin “cheers” sign last year but I kept it around because I can use it for lots of different occasions. I borrowed some gold silverware and plates from my gal pal Elsie, added them a few of my other table settings, sprinkled some gold confetti and I was ready for guests to arrive!
As you can see from the Instax photos (I got a pink one for Christmas!) we had a total blast! We’ve started a New Year’s Eve tradition of getting together with this old college crew and this was our second year of making it happen (ok, technically the Larsons are honorary members, but they are pretty much official now). Already making plans for next NYE and we can’t wait! Hope you did something fun too!

    laura,
i’ve never listened to mutemath, but after one of your posts where you mentioned VITALS, i checked them out and was BLOWN away. i was listening to them on youtube so much that my husband bought me their album as a surprise for our roadtrip! thought that’d make you smile… even though it’s totally unrelated to your post 🙂
