Metallic Sequin Mini

I don’t know about you, but I’m a “sparkle” person. Sequins, glitter, diamonds-I’ll take most anything that’s got a shimmer going on. And since I’m drawn to the shiny like a bird searching for the perfect nest adornment, it’s hard for me to pass up (or let go of) full sequin dresses. I’ve had this French Connection dress for a few years now, and I still can’t seem to part with it. While I love the dress in it’s current state, it took a bit of work to get it to where it is now. When I bought the dress, it was at least three sizes too big for me and a foot longer than its current version, so I had to remove a bunch of the pyramid shaped sequins, take it in, and resew all the sequins back in their proper place. Phew!

Although it took quite a bit of time to get the dress right, I’m convinced that it was all worth it in the end. I pulled out this glittery garment to wear to my pal Emma’s wedding last week since I knew she was having a metallic themed fete, and I think it was just the ticket. Wait, is that still a saying? Or do only old people say things are “just the ticket.” Oh, well, I won’t worry about it, I’ll just put on some Glen Miller and shuffle off to my early bird dinner, sequins and all…

I love the dress! It sounds like a ton of work was put in to it, but so totally worth it! Love the blog and the shape it is taking! 🙂
