Black Peplum Dress with Gold Stud Belt

So, we went out on our Valentine’s date a little later in the week than planned, but it’s better to stuff yourself with chocolate late than to not stuff yourself at all! Am I right? I think so. It’s been a while since I bought myself a dress, so I kept my eye out in January for the right V-Day attire, and this peplum number from Forever 21 was too cute to resist.

It’s a rare treat that I get to have Todd home on a holiday weekend (let alone a romantic one!) and we had a blast going out for pomme frites, crepes, and coffee. He always is so sweet and appreciates my decorations, and we got to enjoy our new house that was doused in pink for the occasion (see here).

Hope you got to do something sweet with your loved ones last week!

Your dress is amazing! I love it, and you styled it so perfectly with your shoes, hair, make-up, and accessories. I celebrated V-day with my boyfriend late as well. I like it better that way–no long lines, hehe.

Love the peplum! I’ve been illustrating a lot of peplum style dresses at work (Simplicity Patterns, if any of you sew out there!) and the dress looks great on you, Laura. Fabulous photos too!

Loving your blog! 🙂 I am a girlfriend of a full-time traveling musician so I can relate to the hectic schedule. I was lucky enough to fly to Chicago for a whirlwind 24 hour trip to see my beau.

Fruit, crepes and coffee is my ideal meal on a date. I hope you had chocolate on your crepes 🙂
Lovely dress, too. The studded belt is a great touch.

Love your bright pink nails! My hubby and I surprised eachother with chocolate treats left for one another the night before (flowers for me, too). Then, we had the night off from work and went out for sushi. I felt super giddy and overwhelmed with love. I don’t care if it’s a cheesy holiday, I loved it!

This is a GREAT look! I love the studded belt paired with the peplum. My husband is the Stage Manager for a band that tours 6 months out of the year. I get to visit amazing places all over the world, but I also spend a LOT of time alone. I’m happy to have found your blog and someone who can relate. 🙂
