I had been holding off on shopping too much for wearable baby items until we knew if Gummerbaby was a boy or girl, but know that we know we have a girl on the way all bets are off so let the shopping begin! Since it’s still January and we are expecting Bebe to show up in early May, it’s been a little hard to find items that feel really summery at this point in the season, but I know more of that will be coming out soon. In the meantime, here are a few of my favorite things that I’ve found so far!

I adore a summer romper for myself so I think I’ll have a big weakness for the baby versions too. It may be a little longer before she can fit into those high tops, but they are just too cute and I desperately wish they sold that sweatsuit set in my size—it’s killing me! If you have any favorite brands for baby clothes, let me know, I’d love to check them out!

Primary (primary.com) has cute affordable basics in fun colors that can be mixed and matched and is cheap enough that you don’t feel bad when baby outgrows it or it gets ruined. Milk barn has adorable animal print bodysuits. Hanna Anderson and Kickee Pants for pajamas and bodysuits. Nununu, Splendid, Mini Munster, Rylee & Cru and Go Gently Nation for edgier styles (but also more $$). And there are great online boutiques like eggy (a store in LA) and spearmint baby. Little Giraffe and Barefoot Dreams have the softest blankets and lovies and some infant clothes too. Finally, don’t count our gap, old navy, target & H&M for cute stuff at great prices. Oh and just a PSA buy Velcro swaddles and save yourself the headache of trying to wrap a fussy baby like a burrito.
Yes, I do have a velcro swaddle on my lists as well, and thanks for all the clothing tips! Can’t wait to look into them!

We just got the #2 item for our baby boy (the boy version of these socks) and they are WONDERFUL! I wish I would have gotten them for him sooner. His pants were always rolling up, and they have been so good in the cooler weather. Not to mention they are adorable.
Oh nice! Yeah, I thought the longer ones have a better chance of staying on—HA!

The peplum onesie is adorable.
ohmygosh #5 is killing me it’s so adorable.
Oh and just saw these adorable moccasins on Hanna Anderson: http://www.hannaandersson.com/pdp.aspx?from=SC&pcid=1252&styleid=45079&simg=45079_128

You’re most welcome! I think you would like Billly Bibs, too! They’re handmade tassle-y bibs in the style of your #5 romper above 🙂
If you haven’t heard of them already, you should check out http://modernburlap.com/
It’s not clothing, but their stuff reminds me of your aesthetic. Everything is black and white! And think prints like marble and cactus, plus scripture verses too. Crib sheets, blankets, bibs, etc. Super cute and all organic!
I’m pregnant with my first due end of June, so it’s been fun to follow along with your pregnancy too!
Thanks for the tip! Congrats to you too Elizabeth!

I’m from Belgium so I don’t recognize most of the brands mentioned here. I know that for the bodysuits (to put under the regular clothes) a lot of people buy the ones of Petit Bateau. They are very good quality and can be passed on, not only from a first child to a second, but I even got a lot of the ones that were used for my brother to give to my son.
In my friend group there is also quite some concern over the conditions in which the clothes are made and I noticed that however adorable they are, not many of my friends will buy from zara or h&m etc. My personal taste seems to be a bit more on the classical side but i love the italian brand Il gufo, the french brands Bonpoint and Bonton and for adorable cashmere hats, cloves and scarves Les Lutins. Also, Zadig et Voltaire has really nice clothes (for both mom, dad and baby) and they even allow you to personalize their cashmere baby sweaters (I got one with the name of my boy as a birth gift).
Because some european brands can be on the pricier side, a lot of moms will have “vide dressing” sales for their baby clothes and you can score some really good deals there…
Best of luck and enjoy shopping!
Thanks Margo!
