Happy Friday everyone! I just wanted to show you this cute bench we made for the kitties last weekend. The only thing they love as much as food and sleeping is looking out the window and chirping at all the neighborhood cats they see, but since we don’t have windowsills at this house, we usually have to put plant stands of some sort near the lookout spots so they can be high enough. I wanted to make a double wide bench so they could look out their favorite window at the same time, and it looks like they are totally into it! I basically just covered a board with fabric, staple gunned the fabric to the underside (link to the fabric in this post), and added these wooden legs I painted gold. Not too bad!!I’ve heard other cat owners lament about their lack of windowsills for their neighborhood watch kitties, so if that’s you, I would highly recommend this solution. I’m pretty sure I know what two certain kitties will be doing this weekend!
That is very cute. My cat would love that. I have to try to make it. I am not crafty at all with wood. Your grey cat looks identical to my cat. I don’t know exactly what breed she is though, do you mind sharing what breed he is? Thank you!
I actually don’t know! She’s from a rescue shelter and while her coat looks very russian blue, I don’t think she is one. She is so soft though!
Laura 🙂
Omg! We don’t know either but we say she is a Russian Blue as well! You wouldn’t believe the resemblance wish I could email you a picture of (your cats ) sister from California! lol Well, at least we are on the right track! This is my first cat and I am in love. But I thought yours was a he. Is it a she? Alrighty well thanks for the cat talk! Our cat Lola can’t wait for me to make a window look-out!
Yep, she is a “she.” The name is spelled with an “ie” ending to be griller, but it’s still confusing. It’s amazing how many cats look like her! I think it’s a “common” look, but of course they are all still one of a kind kitties 😉

My cats would love one of these! Great idea.
That’s what’s up kitty kat!! It looks like your fur babies are getting along! Adorable.
Charlie is still pretty crabby, but she’s slowly getting a little better 🙂

Great idea!! I love the fabric print you’ve chosen xxx

This is perfect! My kitty also loves to sit in front of the window and watch people and birds. That bench is the perfect height! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂

If there’s one thing cats love – it’s looking out of windows! I’m lucky to have some nice windowsills in my place, but I still set up something similar to this in my kitchen but with storage underneath. The cats love it and will spend the whole day there, plus it’s a nice storage solution!
Happy weekend, Laura!

Hi Laura–two questions!
1. How did you make your fiddle so tree like? Did you remove the leaves at the base? Ours looks like a little bush right now.
2. Where is your planter from?
Thanks! (Cute kitties, too.)
That’s pretty much how it looked when I bought it last year, so I haven’t done much to it! And I think that planter is from Lowes 🙂

Ooo! What an amazing idea! This would keep my cats entertained.
